Challenge

Two rounds of copyediting for Launching Lifelong Health by Improving Health Care for Children, Youth, and Families. This in-depth report (570 pages!) examines wide-ranging factors affecting the health of U.S. children, particularly those from marginalized or low-income backgrounds. In addition to clarifying key messaging, this project required meticulous attention to culturally appropriate language, acronym consistency, citations, and formatting.

Approach

As contractors for Briere Associates and regular service providers for the National Academies, Allie Boman and Danielle Nasenbeny provided copyediting and reference formatting for this report. Using our structured, integrated workflow, Allie and Danielle ensured that the document was clear and consistent at all levels—from content clarity to citation accuracy and formatting consistency. This process allowed for thorough quality control, and seamless and timely publication.

Result

The final report was polished, precise, and ready for publication, meeting the highest standards of editorial quality. By integrating detailed editing workflows, we ensured that the document was accessible, culturally sensitive, and professionally formatted for its intended audiences.
