Challenge

Health In Harmony (HIH), a nonprofit dedicated to rainforest conservation and global health, needed a website redesign to better communicate its mission, engage visitors, and drive donations. The existing site lacked a modern design, had unclear messaging, and made it difficult for users to understand HIH’s impact and take action.

Approach

Yasmeen conducted a full audit of the website, identifying key pain points in navigation, content structure, and calls to action. Using HIH’s existing personas, we restructured the site to prioritize clarity and engagement — streamlining navigation, improving storytelling, and ensuring donation pathways were clear. The site was built on Squarespace to allow for easy updates while incorporating interactive elements to highlight HIH’s initiatives.

Result

The redesigned website significantly improved usability and engagement. By simplifying navigation and reducing redundant pages by 30%, users could more easily explore HIH’s work and find key information. Usability testing showed a 40% decrease in the time it took visitors to understand the organization’s mission, ensuring clearer and more immediate impact.

Additionally, interactive design elements, such as visual storytelling and community-focused content, created a more engaging experience, aligning with user research insights. These improvements have made it easier for visitors to connect with HIH’s mission, explore its initiatives, and take meaningful action. See the finished website here
