Challenge

Since early 2024, our team has provided project management, editing, and graphic design for each issue of AEG News, the member magazine/newsletter for this professional association. In late 2024, AEG’s board also asked us to redesign AEG News, creating a fresh and modern look for this long-standing publication.

Our scope included modernizing the publication’s design to enhance readability and engagement, and to connect all ages and professional stages of AEG’s membership. We retained the existing logo and built the color palette, font scheme, and layout from scratch.

Approach

For five issues, we used the existing template while refining workflows and optimizing editorial quality. The redesign started with a clear project plan, a discovery call, and two sample prototypes based on initial feedback. We continued to communicate regularly with the AEG team, incorporating their priorities and ideas for the redesign.

Result

The final product included a fresh new prototype for upcoming issues of AEG News, as well as a brand guide, a specs sheet for contributors, and a specs sheet for sponsors. The new design embodies this organization’s history as well as its commitment to the future of the profession. The redesign ensures that the publication remains a valuable, engaging resource for AEG members.
